Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Katy Murphy Ingle started art lessons at age 5 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and has been painting and drawing ever since. After studies at Stanford and Paris, she lived in Switzerland for 23 years, where she painted several large murals, as well as one of the original Cows on Parade in Zurich.
Katy paints mostly in acrylics and watercolors now, with a specialty in landscapes and flowers. Her styles range from realistic to impressionist, and lately even primitive American. In addition, she studied calligraphy with Maurey Nemoy in Los Angeles and likes to combine it with her art. She now lives in the Chicago area and is particularly inspired by the Botanic Gardens and Lake Michigan.
